A New Rhythm

For the past fifteen years, my life followed a very familiar rhythm. Running a gym, coaching clients, planning schedules, solving problems, and balancing countless responsibilities filled my days from morning until evening.

When I sold my gym and decided to become a full-time artist, I imagined that having more time would immediately feel liberating. Instead, it felt surprisingly unfamiliar.

For a long time, my days had been structured by another profession. Suddenly, the calendar was open, and I had to create a completely new rhythm for myself... It took time to understand that creativity doesn't always follow a strict schedule. Sometimes the work happens when working directly with inks, and sometimes it happens quietly, while observing, experimenting, or simply allowing ideas to develop.

Right now, I find myself in another season of transition. My husband and I are preparing for a move to a new country, which means living in a state of anticipation. While waiting for this next chapter to begin, I have been going through years of accumulated art supplies, organizing my studio, and gradually offering paintings and materials from my collection to new homes.

At the same time, this slower pace has given me something incredibly valuable: space.

Space to revisit techniques, test new products, and challenge myself to explore different ways of working with alcohol inks.

Every experiment teaches me something new, and every unexpected reaction of the medium reminds me why I fell in love with it in the first place!

The transition has also allowed me to expand my work beyond creating paintings. I've been developing online course materials and, perhaps most rewarding of all, I've had the opportunity to teach alcohol ink art to new artists in person!

Watching someone discover the beauty of this unpredictable medium for the first time is a joy that never gets old!

Art is a unique profession in many ways. My studio can change locations, countries, or even continents, but the work travels with me. A few bottles of ink, paper, and an idea are enough to begin again anywhere in the world...or at least I hope so :D

After finally finding a balance in this new way of living, I no longer feel like I'm simply waiting for something to happen. Instead, I feel like I'm building the foundation for everything that comes next.

And I have a feeling that the most exciting part of this journey is still ahead...
